About
Hi - welcome to my blog! I’m Alex, an AI researcher and a tech enthusiast, and I’m trying something new!
The world of AI (and tech in general) is progressing at an accelerating pace, and staying informed about the latest research is becoming increasingly difficult. During my PhD (when it was actually my job to keep up with research), I never felt that I could justify the extra time to write about the information I was consuming. The next paper deadline was always around the corner it seemed…
But in a world that’s contantly speeding up, I’d like to slow down and be more intentional about the information I consume and retain. For now, that means taking that extra bit of time document and distill my learning trajectory. Not only do I think it will help protect against so-called acceleration-fatigue but also re-ignite my passion for learning and new ideas.
Finally, as I reflect back on my education, the overwhelming majority of my accumulated practical knowledge has come from online educational resources and blogs just like the one I’m hoping this will become. If even one person stumbles upon this blog and finds it even remotely helpful, I’ll consider it a first step towards paying it forward.
